Property Description for 255 East 49th Street, 4-CD

Graced with a thoughtful layout and plenty of natural light, this convertible 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom corner condo typifies classic New York City living. Features of the apartment include gorgeous glass porcelain floors, custom lighting, a home office, two living spaces, southern and eastern exposure, an abundance of closet space, large windows, and a convenient in-home washer/dryer.

Past a functional entryway, the home flows into a spacious living room and a formal dining room of which seats 8-10 people, the latter of which can easily be converted into a fourth bedroom. Adjacent to the living room is an eat-in kitchen equipped with a windowed breakfast bar, granite countertops and backsplashes, and a suite of high-end stainless steel appliances from Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Bosch.

Separate from the other bedrooms, the master suite possesses a trio of custom closets—one of which is a walk-in—and a private en-suite bathroom with a deep soaking tub. The second and third bedrooms each have large closets and easy access to a full bathroom with porcelain tiling and a step-in shower. The third full bathroom serves the living space and also has a step-in shower.

Sterling Plaza is a full-service condominium located in Midtown. Amenities include a 24 hr doorman, concierge service, a storage room, a resident manager, and a building-wide water filtration system. The building is surrounded by a number of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops, and is close to the 6, E, and M subway lines. Pets are welcome.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
