Property Description for 240 East 46th Street, 8-G

“Next stop Grand Central!” How would you like to call a world famous address home? That’s exactly what you will have when you come home to this tastefully renovated oversized 1 bedroom/convertible 2 bedroom. That’s right...convertible 2 bedroom because this unit at over 700 sqft can be used as is, converted to a two bedroom or bring your architect and designer and redo the entire floor plan if you like.

Bask in the warmth of a smile coming from our friendly full service staff when you arrive at the building then take a beautifully appointed brass and walnut wood paneled elevator to your apartment.

Apartment 8G, in its present move in condition features loads of designer touches such as cherrywood floors, paneled doors, crown molding, full granite kitchen with gorgeous antique white oak cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, lots of closet space and granite and glass designer bath allowing you to save hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to the same sized apartments for over $1.2 million dollars plus being renovated right next door at the upcoming AKA United Nations Luxury Condo Hotel.

This World Class neighborhood features famous restaurants and bar lounges like the Palm Restaurants, Sparks Steakhouse, PJ Clarke’s, Smith & Wollensky and is minutes from popular stores such as Bloomingdales, Whole Foods, Morton Williams & Gristedes. Not to mention the convenience of the most famous transportation hub of them all...Grand Central Terminal where you can catch the Shuttle to Times Square or the 4,5,6,7 trains and all the Metro North trains plus Express Buses to Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn & the Bronx.

Head just down the street and visit with diplomats and citizens of the world at the United Nations, get some organic fruits and veggies each Wednesday at the Farmer’s Market at Dag Hammarsjkold Plaza Park, watch the flowers blooming in the Katherine Hepburn Garden, catch a Japanese art exhibit at the Japan Society or maybe take a relaxing swim at the Vanderbilt YMCA or Equinox gym or grab a drink and a bite on 2nd Avenues restaurant row all just steps from your new address.
Coming sometime in the future and for the 1st time in 60 years, there will be a waterfront promenade with seating benches and a bike path right behind the UN. Don’t believe it? Well, no one ever believed the 2nd Ave Subway would become a reality either. So come be a part of the revitalization of one of NYC’s quietly sophisticated and undervalued neighborhoods...Midtown East’s Turtle Bay, before the secret is out!

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
