This grand apartment features vaulting high-beamed ceilings, very large exposures, and a wide-open floor plan—a beautiful canvass waiting for the right buyer to create a dream home in a premier Turtle Bay building. Enjoy unbelievable, expansive skyline views featuring New York’s most iconic high rises through a virtual wall of windows in the great room. The apartment already contains two full bathrooms—perhaps one will be incorporated into a new master bedroom suite. Build a home office with a second en-suite bath, or a guest bedroom wing, or maintain the apartment’s loft-like style and tastefully decorate as you wish. Install a customized chef’s kitchen for a seamless cooking experience, or curate a personalized, quaint art gallery. In short, there are unlimited possibilities here, so bring your architect. This pet-friendly luxury condo offers all the appeal of a stately prewar building with the flexible rules of a condo. On-site amenities include a large renovated lobby with two sitting areas, a 24-hour doorman and live-in super, laundry on floors 3-18, a roof deck, storage for rent, bike room, and a parking garage accessible through the lobby. An open sublet policy is in effect from day one. A full board package is necessary but no formal board interview is required. In the heart of Midtown Manhattan and just down the street from the United Nations building, this unique neighborhood is a serene enclave of tree-lined streets known for its two lush parks, with all the attractions of NYC living mere steps away.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
