Property Description for 3017 Riverdale Ave, 2-A

Sunny and quiet one bedroom with north and west exposure with open park views. Located in a building with prewar and art deco architecture. The construction began before the war and was completed in the 1940's. The apartment has been renovated while keeping the original prewar details: high ceilings, entry foyer, windows in each room, set back shelf, grand arches, floor to ceiling closets and handsome original wood floors throughout.

This spacious apartment feels like a home upon entering. There is a gracious area that is used for dining and as a sitting area. It also has a large closet. The windowed eat-in-kitchen has been renovated and updated. It has a separate dining nook, new splash back, ample counter space, wood cabinets with glass door, lots of storage and a ceramic tile floor. There is a separate dining area. The large living room has two windows with park exposure. The windowed bathroom has been updated while keeping the original prewar details. The oversized master bedroom has three windows and an extra large closet.

Before entering the setback elevator building, you have a lovely Italian laid stone pathway that is surrounded by floral and a grand tree. At the end of the entry way is a Zen fountain. The door to the building has been recently renovated. There is an intercom, art deco lobby with marble and a marble stairwell that goes from the lobby to the sixth floor. There is individual storage, laundry, service entrance and a live-in-super.

You are within walking distance to the #1 subway, Jitney to the Metro North, MTA local and Express bus stops, parks, Riverdale, Broadway and Johnson Avenue shopping streets, library, subway, gyms and Riverdale Spa, Charter School and public elementary and high school.

Riverdale | Bronx

Quick Profile

Searching for a little bit of country that can be your home base, while still being able to take advantage of everything that NYC offers? Do you want a slower pace of living, focused on family and the great outdoors? Riverdale may be your perfect choice. Only about ten miles north of Midtown, Riverdale’s bucolic paradise feels like you have left the city entirely. You would never guess that you are still within the confines of the Bronx.

Riverdale is primarily residential with a substantial number of single-family homes and corridors of high-rise apartments. There are many large parks, and they play a major role in the lives of the residents, as they are a primary source of entertainment. Clean, safe streets make Riverdale a great place to walk or cycle. There are trees everywhere, and the air is fresh and invigorating. It is a great place to raise a family, but more and more singles and young professionals are moving into Riverdale, in search of larger, less expensive apartments, and to enjoy the parks and the remarkable views of the Hudson River and Manhattan.

While the grid layout of the rest of the city makes it easy to find your way from here to there, Riverdale chose to forego that structure, choosing instead to let the verdant streets twist and wind their way around natural obstacles in designs by Frederick Law Olmsted, of Central Park fame. Some streets are divided, with traffic in one direction being at an entirely different level than traffic headed the opposite way on the same street. This quirkiness adds a certain charm to this neighborhood.
