Property Description for 301 East 48th Street, 4-K

If your priority is space, don't miss this newly-renovated and updated listing in the heart of Turtle Bay! Measuring over 800 SF, this quiet, tranquil 1 BR/1BTH apartment has some very special traits. The bedroom is oversized (approximately 12 feet wide) and has the kind of walk-in closet that is almost impossible to find in one bedroom apartments in Manhattan. The living room is extra wide and measures approximately 15 feet from side to side, allowing for multiple conversation areas or uses. The apartment has four closets in total, a large entry foyer, and a separate square kitchen (not a galley!) that is also rarely found in one bedrooms in NYC. Marlo Towers is a full-service building with a live-in super, a beautiful roof deck, storage, a bike room and a garage. It's in a prime location in Midtown East -- surrounded by abundant restaurants and shopping, and extremely convenient to public transportation. Imagine the convenience of being just a block from the SELECT buses that run both downtown and uptown, a block from the crosstown routes, and mere minutes to the E and M, and the S, 4, 5, 6, 7 and Metro North at Grand Central Terminal. This historic residential enclave also boasts a farmer's market on Wednesdays, gourmet shopping at Grand Central Market, a charming outdoor cafe in a neighborhood park with a Katherine Hepburn Garden, and a brand-new Whole Foods! Next up -- the East River Greenway! It's a great time to discover Midtown East! Pets permitted with board approval. Co-purchasing and pieds-a-terre permitted as well. Please call for a private appointment to see this and other singular properties for rent and sale in NYC.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
