Property Description for 155 East 49th Street, 6-E

This North facing, charming gem located in one of Midtown East's (Turtle Bay) finest boutique cooperatives is quite possibly the best starter home deal in all of Manhattan. At well under 400k, with less than 1k monthly maintenance; this studio offers attended lobby/elevator, white glove service and emanates prewar charm.

Apt. 6-E's interior melds prewar charm with understated classic, contemporary design. The window treatments, kitchen and bath have been accessorized with painstaking customization. The kitchen features a stainless steel sink with Grohe fixtures, 24'' Bertazzoni gas cooktop, LG fridge, LG over-range microwave and a complementary quartz countertop accented by tea-green colored glass subway tiles. The customized bath features a windowed stall shower, Kohler fixtures with matching "frameless" shower doors and vanity sink with Grohe fixtures. LED recessed lighting and custom closets round out this turnkey, one-of-a-kind, white glove stunner.

155 E 49 features 24 hour attended lobby, attended elevator, live-in super, laundry room, bike and storage facilities. Co-purchase, pieds-a-terre (non-homestead 2nd residence) and sublets permitted. Conveniently located to fine restaurants, boutiques, department stores, museums, parks/green space, subways and bus lines.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
