Property Description for 230 East 50th Street, 7-A

This beautiful, sunny 2 bedroom apartment is located in one of Midtown Manhattan's most elegant and special prewar co-operative buildings. From the moment you enter the large foyer you notice the abundance of prewar details and charm. The large living room has over-sized, recently restored casement windows at one end and a wood-burning fireplace at the other. There are beautiful hardwood floors and beamed ceilings throughout. The windowed eat-in kitchen has top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances. Both bedrooms are large and very quiet and overlook the building's private south-facing garden and are light-flooded. There is tremendous closet space throughout the apartment as well as a large storage cage in the basement. 230 East 50th is a sophisticated co-op with only 2 apartments per elevator landing. There is a full-time doorman, live-in super, beautiful roof deck, charming private garden, bike room and laundry room. Pets are welcome. All this in close proximity to Midtown Manhattan, public transportation and some of the City's best restaurants and shopping.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
