Property Description for 664 Jefferson Ave, 2-B

Clearly differentiating itself amidst a sea of nearby condos, apartment 2B at 664 Jefferson Avenue is a sprawling, south-facing home set in a lovely boutique building in the heart of sought-after Bed Stuy. Spanning nearly 700 square feet - significantly larger than most new construction - this light-filled home's generous living space allows for dedicated living and dining areas along with an incredibly spacious kitchen all paired with a large, symmetrical bedroom and a gracious bathroom with a deep soaking tub. Enter the home to find a massive, 26 foot deep living and dining room bathed in sunlight from the stunning floor-to-ceiling wall of south-facing windows. Gorgeous white oak hardwood floors span the entire space, including the supremely spacious kitchen with custom cabinetry and stainless Bosch and Fisher & Paykel appliances. Near the entrance to the home, you'll also find the beautiful bathroom with its deep soaking tub and your own washer/dryer tucked away in a closet. Beyond the oversized living and dining room lies the elegant master bedroom. Also facing south with the same floor-to-ceiling windows found in the living area, this large, symmetrical space is easy to layout and provides plenty of room for a king or queen-sized bed, nightstands and a dresser. 664 Jefferson separates itself from the pack with meaningful upgrades such as true central air conditioning, the aforementioned white oak floors, and high-end kitchen appliances, energy efficient light fixtures, a lovely common roof deck, and a charming brick facade. In addition, the building is set on an ideal Brownstone Brooklyn block near which transportation, dining, and shopping options abound. Finally, the exceedingly low monthlies - including a 15-year tax abatement - make this an incredibly attractive investment.

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
