Property Description for 319 East 50th Street, 8-DE

This two-bedroom, two bathroom offers pre-war charm with modern updates. Combined in 2016, the kitchen and bathrooms were renovated with thought to adding storage and maintaining some of the pre-war features found in this building such as beamed ceilings. This spacious, approximately 1200sf, home has beautiful oak strip floors throughout and multiple windows bringing in three exposures, north, south and east.

The beautifully renovated windowed open kitchen comes with white cabinets and quartz countertops, and a breakfast bar. Morning light shines in inviting you to gaze out at rooftops, gardens and open sky. All appliances are stainless steel.

With this configuration, you have a choice of which bedroom should be the master. Both will fit a king very easily. Both bedrooms come with walk-in closets. Beautiful sliding doors separates the loft-like room from the great room. There is a bonus room which has a sink. Unlike cookie cutters, this home inspires the imagination and offers gracious living. The apartment is quiet and yet, the area is so engaging.

Neighborhood is truly a gem and offers amazing eateries. Excellent public transportation and parks close by. Building comes with laundry room, storage bins and bike storage. Pets are welcome. Pied-a-terre is allowed. 24-hour front desk personnel.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
