Property Description for 216 East 47th Street, 31-A

Space, privacy and luxury abound in this high-floor three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom showplace in The Octavia – one of Midtown East/Turtle Bay's most coveted white-glove condominiums.

Perched high on the 31st floor, this 1,639-square-foot residence greets you with a private elevator landing and spectacular views of Midtown, Downtown and the East River thanks to exposures both north and south. Herringbone Brazilian hardwood floors pave the large living and dining areas while the powder room and private balcony add convenience and outdoor space. The fully equipped pass-through kitchen aids in gracious entertaining, and the adjacent breakfast alcove is the perfect spot for morning coffee.

The split-bedroom layout includes a large master with en suite spa bathroom and multiple closets. The second bedroom suite is equally well-appointed, and the dining area could easily be transformed into a third bedroom if needs require. An in-unit washer-dryer completes this fantastic Midtown condominium.

The Octavia is a boutique luxury condominium featuring just 48 units in the heart of Turtle Bay. Here, residents enjoy 24-hour white-glove doorman/concierge service, private storage and a bike room. Conveniently located in ultra-accessible Midtown East, this home is close to the United Nations, major financial institutions, dining, nightlife, and shopping. Transportation is effortless with 4/5/6, 7 and S trains at Grand Central Station, and B/D/F/M and E trains within easy reach.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
