Property Description for 345 East 50th Street, 3-C

The East 50's have been an enclave of wealth and elegance since the early 1900's. In 2007 the architect Adam Kushner converted two Beekman district brownstones to the unique and graceful M at Beekman. He combined 21st century living with the historic facades of traditional Beekman houses.

This one bedroom duplex has all the amenities of modern living with an open kitchen boasting local Ashfield stone countertops, Bosch oven and cooktop, Marvel wine cooler, Subzero refrigerator, Fisher and Paykel double drawer dishwasher, LG microwave/toaster and Miele in-wall coffee/ expresso machine, steam oven and washer/dryer. The white oak cabinets and glass tile backsplash add to the fresh clean line.

The open kitchen and dining area have a view north of the charming dining balcony and the garden beyond. Eleven foot ceilings enhance the space and feeling of openness in the 21 x 18 LR. A half bath and coat closet complete the first floor open loft space.

Ascending the stairs you walk into a majestic master bedroom suite with a large custom built walk-in closet, a utility closet with plenty of storage space and a washer/dryer closet conveniently situated adjacent to the master bath. The bedroom is large enough to accommodate a study/office area with desk, cabinets and files. The spa-like master bath has glass tiles, steam shower, deep tub and radiant heat floor. There is a 2nd outdoor space on this floor with peaceful garden views. The entire apartment faces north which embraces quiet living.

The 23 unit building has a 24 hour concierge, a gym with separate yoga room and additional private storage bins for rent. The building has central air and each apartment has its own thermostat. It is pet friendly. The condo invites a pied-a-terre. CONTRACT SIGNED.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
