Property Description for 235 East 49th Street, 1-E

This stunning studio with loft has undergone a complete gut renovation and boasts tons of impressive architectural details. Rich hardwood floors throughout and a gracious main living area features 12'4" ceilings, recessed lighting, wall sconces and custom recessed ceiling speakers. There is a space perfect for a home office, complete with a storage loft overhead, and three additional closets on the lower level. The sleep loft also features ample storage and room for a bed and additional furniture if desired. The kitchen features granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances, and the large spa-like bathroom features a Zuma soaking tub, stylish vessel sink, and walls and flooring with stone tile and beautiful mosaic inlay. This is a first floor unit but definitely feels high enough to be more like a second floor. 235 East 49th Street is a doorman co-op with live-in super, laundry room, and an incredible roofdeck. Located on one of midtown's most charming tree-lined blocks, and close to transportation, this is truly a wonderful place to call home! Sorry, no pets.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
