Property Description for 319 East 50th Street, 8-DE

***Pre-war Charm with Modern Updates!*** Combined from two units in 2016, this spacious 1200sf two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with beamed ceilings and ample storage features new renovations in the kitchen and bathrooms. You will love the classic, well-preserved oak strip floors throughout and all-day sunlight from windows facing northern, southern, and eastern exposures.

The beautifully renovated, windowed, open kitchen comes with white cabinets, quartz countertops, and a breakfast bar. Morning light shines in, inviting you to gaze out at picturesque rooftops, peaceful gardens and bright, open sky. All appliances are stainless steel.

Both oversized bedrooms enjoy walk-in closets and easily fit king beds, which allow you to use either bedroom as the master. Additionally, a sliding door separates the loft-like great room from the living/dining room. Unlike cookie-cutter apartments, the flexible layout of this home inspires the imagination and offers an opportunity to create your version of perfection.

The neighborhood is truly a gem: it offers amazing eateries and parks nearby, as well as quick access to subways and buses. The co-op provides a laundry room, storage bins and bike storage. Pets are welcome, pied-a-terre is allowed as is co-purchasing, parents buying for children and the doorman is 24-hours.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
