Property Description for 254 East 7th Street, 18

This historic, south-facing East Village mint condition apartment has been completely reimagined into a bright and airy modern minimalist open-concept 1BR with windowed study and bath, and state-of-the-art finishes. Functional in its design and elegant in simplicity, this interior environment evokes an inspiring sense of craft and refinement that is quite unexpected in a 1910 Alphabet City walkup.
Thoughtfully weaving eastern and western sensibilities, distinctive sliding fusuma walls define separate sleeping and study spaces, or open completely to unite them with the spacious living and dining floor plan as needed. The open chef's kitchen features stainless steel countertops and shelving, a Bertazzoni gas range & oven, and a hidden Blomberg refrigerator. A sleek wall-mounted Duravit toilet and sink, and huge soaking tub adorn the large, windowed bathroom. Ductless, silent Mitsubishi split-unit air conditioning, in-unit washer/dryer, four custom six-foot tilt & turn windows, and extensive custom millwork cabinetry and closet space complete this amazing home.
254 East 7th is located on a quiet, tree-lined residential street, right between Tompkins Square Park and the East River Park, and just around the corner from THE quintessential East Village row, Avenue C from 6th to 10th Streets. This stretch features some of the best Alphabet City restaurants, bars, coffee shops and shopping.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
