True 1-Bedroom + Bonus Area – perfect for working from home!

Apartment 12L is a positively perfect loft in the heart of Midtown East!

This bright east-facing apartment features ultra-high ceilings (close to 12 feet!), a huge living area, modern open kitchen renovated bathroom (with dressing area, two sinks and deep soaking tub), a large bedroom (can easily accommodate a king-sized bed), ceiling fan, plus an elevated loft that may be used as a guest area, home office, meditation area, or anything else your heart desires.

In addition to a smart layout, the apartment offers copious amounts of storage, including a huge space beneath the loft (see floor plan).

The apartment’s eastern exposure and huge windows allow light to stream in all day long, especially at sunrise. Plus the windows open and have screens so you may enjoy fresh air when the weather is right.

This awesome loft is located at Turtle Bay Towers (TBT), a condop (co-op with condo rules). The building features full-time doormen, resident manager, laundry on every floor, roof deck, bicycle room, storage units for rent, plus an attached parking garage. Zipcar garages are nearby too.

TBT is located near Grand Central Station, half a block from the U.N., and is surrounded by world-class restaurants and parks with serene water features. Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, just a short block away, even hosts a farmer’s market every Wednesday.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
