Property Description for 345 East 52nd Street, 8-H

This exceptionally well laid out, perfectly proportioned, and exceedingly bright one-bedroom was thoughtfully chosen by its architect owner for its unique qualities. A mirror entry hall provides suspense as it opens into apartment's main living area. Windows facing North & South, with clear sight lines from end to end, lend a very airy loft-like feel to the space. A South facing living room with an additional wall of West-facing windows allows for cinematic midtown skyline views. Glorious sun floods the apartment all day, with the lights of the Chrysler building shining in all night.

The windowed kitchen offers the necessary trappings for a city cook all within an efficient footprint, complete with dishwasher. The peacefully quiet king-size bedroom in the rear has enchanting tree top and garden views. The bathroom has been tastefully renovated with marble tiling and an elegant black marble sink surround.

Closets are strategically placed throughout the apartment, offering an abundance of storage space. Other features include solid hardwood oak flooring, solid plaster walls, central radiator heat and through-wall ACs in each room. This apartment has the grace and charm of a pre-war home, rare to find in a post-war building.

Built in 1959, 345 East 52nd Street is a well-managed, amiable, full-service, pet-friendly, co-op building on a beautiful tree-lined block. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, full-time super, expansive landscaped roof deck with stunning skyline views all around, laundry room, common storage, bike storage and an on-site parking garage (wait list). Less than two blocks to the East River in one direction and the E, M & 6 subway service in the other, with a plethora of restaurants, bars and shopping in between...including Whole Foods at 57th Street!

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
