Property Description for 100 United Nations Plaza, 39-AB

Live and entertain luxuriously in this sprawling high-floor A & B combination apartment. This is a truly sophisticated home with oversized windows that capture the spectacular views from each and every room. This existing configuration offers two generous master bedrooms one with an exceptional bath and dressing room, the other with an oversized bath and a third bedroom that is currently used as a library and powder room. The generous proportions of all the rooms are outstanding. As one enters the foyer their eye is immediately drawn into the expansive living room and beyond to the panoramic view of the East River, punctuated by the iconic Pepsi Cola sign. The open loft-like living area is spacious & flows seamlessly to the dining room and kitchen - replete with Viking range, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, wine refrigerator and large walk-in pantry. The southern view from the living room, library, bedroom (and their balconies) shines day and night with views of the Chrysler and Empire State buildings and all the way to the Freedom Tower and beyond.

The hall leading to the private master suite has been streamlined by incorporating integrated doors which seem to disappear into the wall when closed. The rambling master bedroom is perched perfectly on the northeast corner of the building, its windows framing views over the Queensboro Bridge and Upper Manhattan as far as the eye can see. Get lost in the strikingly spacious combined master bathroom, dressing room and walk-in closet. This deluxe suite offers a double vanity, storage lining the room, and open northern city views at which you can gaze from the oversized fourteen head shower.

The second master bedroom and third bedroom/library each have their own full baths, and share similarly stunning southern views as the living room. Three separate wraparound balconies, a washer & dryer and plenty of storage space complete this home.

100 United Nations Plaza is a white-glove building, with outstanding service, that features a large hotel-like banquet/conference room and a fitness center with weight room, pilates machine, and televisions. Additionally, there is a garage in the building. Pieds-a-terre are allowed. One small dog is allowed per apartment.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
