Property Description for 236 East 47th Street, 21-E

Welcome to The Club at Turtle Bay, a white glove full service building. Come and experience apartment 21E, a spacious and bright 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with approximately 1,105 of indoor and outdoor space. This corner unit with sprawling northern and western exposures boasts spectacular city views from every room including the kitchen. Washer/ Dryer permitted in the unit. Central air conditioning and ample storage throughout the apartment. Entertain in your apartment or on the breathtaking rooftop with 360 degree views of the city. There’s a kitchen and restrooms in the sky lounge which makes it the perfect space for a private event or sundowners on the roof with your loved ones. You are within close proximity to the United Nations, Grand Central Station, restaurants, gyms, bars, shopping and so much more. Here's a note from the sellers. “The apartment has a spacious balcony that we have really enjoyed and used a lot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's like your personal oasis in the middle of the city. You can even see Times Square from this home. We thoroughly enjoyed using the amazing sky lounge and roof deck. Marvel at the Manhattan skyline day or night, relax in a different setting, sunbathe, have friends over, watch the 4th of July fireworks. There is no need to fight for a spot on the street during Manhattanhenge because you can experience it from our balcony and kitchen! The northwest exposure is great because it does not get uncomfortably hot and we didn’t need to use the AC in the summer months.” There’s a capital assessment of $144 ending in February 20122. Brand new windows were installed two years ago, making the space more energy efficient and quieter. Live in Superintendent. The Club at Turtle Bay residents have access to The Vanderbilt YMCA that offers resident discounts to their fitness center and pools. Diplomats welcome.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
