Property Description for 3015 Riverdale Ave, 4-F

The original arches throughout this prewar one bedroom apartment brings back classic elegance. All of the original prewar details have been maintained and refurbished. It has basket weave floors, a setback shelf, high ceilings entry foyer, deep and spacious closets that are from floor to ceiling. Of course, there are windows in each room.

The windowed eat-in-kitchen has been updated and has good cabinet space. The classic wrought iron rail that separates the dining area from the living room is exquisite.

The grand archway that leads into the living room is extraordinary. There are two windows in the living room that allows the sun to enter and there is northern exposure. The windowed bathroom has the original delicate black and white subway tiles and a period tub. There is a closet in the hallway that leads into the oversized prime bedroom with three windows and a large closet.

Roses flourish during the season on the many trellises that are in front of the setback prewar elevator building. The pathway leading to the building has hand laid Italian bricks and is surrounded by seasonal flora, plants, shrubs and trees with a stone Zen fountain at the end of the entry. The entrance to the building was recently renovated and it also has an intercom. The Art Deco lobby's floors are stone and there is a period staircase that ascends to the top floor. The elevator was replaced within the last few years. There is a laundry, service entrance and individual storage (outside vendor) in the basement. The super lives-in also. Heat and hot water is included in the maintenance. Sorry DOGS are no longer allowed.

Bus stops for the Jitney to the Metro North, MTA local and express buses are across the street. The #1 subway is three blocks east of the avenue. The building is adjacent to an intimate park. You are a short distance to the Riverdale, Johson and Broadway shopping streets, trendy and fast fod restaurants, Starbucks, gyms, Riverdale Spa, Riverdale Tennis, outdoor parking across the street, indoor parking on West 231st Street, Manhattan College, JFK H.S, charter and elementary schools. There is a five minute drive or bus ride to Manhattan College, Riverdale Country, Ethical Culture, Horace Mann and Fieldston.

Riverdale | Bronx

Quick Profile

Searching for a little bit of country that can be your home base, while still being able to take advantage of everything that NYC offers? Do you want a slower pace of living, focused on family and the great outdoors? Riverdale may be your perfect choice. Only about ten miles north of Midtown, Riverdale’s bucolic paradise feels like you have left the city entirely. You would never guess that you are still within the confines of the Bronx.

Riverdale is primarily residential with a substantial number of single-family homes and corridors of high-rise apartments. There are many large parks, and they play a major role in the lives of the residents, as they are a primary source of entertainment. Clean, safe streets make Riverdale a great place to walk or cycle. There are trees everywhere, and the air is fresh and invigorating. It is a great place to raise a family, but more and more singles and young professionals are moving into Riverdale, in search of larger, less expensive apartments, and to enjoy the parks and the remarkable views of the Hudson River and Manhattan.

While the grid layout of the rest of the city makes it easy to find your way from here to there, Riverdale chose to forego that structure, choosing instead to let the verdant streets twist and wind their way around natural obstacles in designs by Frederick Law Olmsted, of Central Park fame. Some streets are divided, with traffic in one direction being at an entirely different level than traffic headed the opposite way on the same street. This quirkiness adds a certain charm to this neighborhood.
