Property Description for 3017 Riverdale Ave, 5-H

This studio is almost the size of a one bedroom. It is bright and has northern and western exposure with open park views. Located in a prewar building. The original prewar details have been preserved such as: high ceilings, arches, setback shelf, handsome basket weave wood floors, entry foyer and floor to ceiling closets. The windowed kitchen hs been renovated, has ample counter space, storage and stainless steel appliances. There is a small area adjacent to the kitchen with a table. The spacious living area has three windows. The owner has divided the living space in a manner that it accommodates a full size bed and a sitting room with settee, television, faux fireplace, cocktail table and a proper living room chair.

The windowed bathroom has a separate dressing area with two closets. There is a large walk-in closet in the entry foyer as well.

Located in a setback elevator building that was on HGTV's "House Hunters" a few years ago. The front of the building has roses on trellises during the season. The entrance to the building has a planted garden with flora, trees and a Zen fountain made of rocks. The pathway has hand laid Italian bricks. The building entrance was recently done and it has an intercom. The lobby has the original stone floor as does the stairway that goes to the top floor. There is individual storage (outside vendor), service entrance, laundry and a live-in-super. Sorry, dogs are not allowed. Heat and hot water is included in the maintenance.

You are centrally located to shops, trendy restaurants, gyms, Starbucks, fast food restaurants, Riverdale Tennis, parks, #1 subway, the Century Spa, Charter School, elementary and middle schools, Manhattan College etc.

There is outdoor parking across the street and indoor parking around the orner on West 231st Street.

Riverdale | Bronx

Quick Profile

Searching for a little bit of country that can be your home base, while still being able to take advantage of everything that NYC offers? Do you want a slower pace of living, focused on family and the great outdoors? Riverdale may be your perfect choice. Only about ten miles north of Midtown, Riverdale’s bucolic paradise feels like you have left the city entirely. You would never guess that you are still within the confines of the Bronx.

Riverdale is primarily residential with a substantial number of single-family homes and corridors of high-rise apartments. There are many large parks, and they play a major role in the lives of the residents, as they are a primary source of entertainment. Clean, safe streets make Riverdale a great place to walk or cycle. There are trees everywhere, and the air is fresh and invigorating. It is a great place to raise a family, but more and more singles and young professionals are moving into Riverdale, in search of larger, less expensive apartments, and to enjoy the parks and the remarkable views of the Hudson River and Manhattan.

While the grid layout of the rest of the city makes it easy to find your way from here to there, Riverdale chose to forego that structure, choosing instead to let the verdant streets twist and wind their way around natural obstacles in designs by Frederick Law Olmsted, of Central Park fame. Some streets are divided, with traffic in one direction being at an entirely different level than traffic headed the opposite way on the same street. This quirkiness adds a certain charm to this neighborhood.
