Property Description for 200 East 57th Street, PH-M

Welcome home to this sky-high, expansive and elegant classic 6 penthouse, located at the intersection of Midtown East and Sutton Place boasting unforgettable views, and two private extraordinary outdoor spaces. Penthouse M is sun-drenched with 2BD/3BA plus staff room, and perfectly combines New York charm and grace, with luxury living at its absolute best.

One enters from a semi-private gallery and is greeted by an oversized marble entry gallery. From the gallery, one is ushered into a very generously proportioned living room and formal dining room. The living room features a wood burning fire place and direct access to the larger of the two private terraces, while the dining room can easily accommodate seating for 12 and has its own outdoor retreat. The unabashed jewel of PHM are the private outdoor terraces - featuring attractive pavers, a retractable awning, water, electricity, as well as lattice fencing for added privacy, and beautifully designed landscaping throughout. Adjacent to the dining room sits a windowed eat in galley kitchen complete with granite countertops, designer stainless steel appliances, and an abundance of pantry space. The staff room is quietly tucked away with its own designer bathroom.

Both bedrooms are private and sit on the western wing of the home. The grand primary bedroom offers direct access to a separate section of the wrap terrace, and this oversized suite is tastefully encased in windowed French doors, has its own en-suite marble bathroom (including soaking tub and bidet), dressing area and two spacious walk-in closets with custom built-ins. The secondary bedroom is also large and currently used as a den, boasting gorgeous views from floor-to-ceiling windows to the private terrace and double corner exposures facing north and west. Huge picture windows throughout, 9' ceilings, several spacious custom closets, handsome custom built-ins, decorative crown moldings, beautiful original oak parquet floors, a separate home office, central heat and air conditioning, and a washer/dryer complete this very special offering

A newly renovated lobby welcomes you home to 200 East 57th Street where glamour meets city living. This full service luxury cooperative was built in 1960 and is solely shareholder occupied, offering a full-time doorman and concierge, an in-house gym, live-in Resident Manager, and a stunning landscaped roof deck at your disposal. Parking garage with guaranteed spots for shareholders (rates subject to change), storage bins (waitlist), and bike storage also available. The co-op allows 65% maximum financing and all utilities are included in the maintenance. Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
