Property Description for 223 East 50th Street, PH-6A

Enjoy all the privacy that a townhouse delivers in this duplex penthouse co-op with two private outdoor terraces. Penthouse 6A at 223 East 50th Street provides a luxurious, house-like atmosphere in the middle of midtown Manhattan. Perfect for entertaining family and friends, the unique and spacious layout creates distinctly separate living spaces which can be almost impossible to find in Manhattan. High ceilings, marble bathrooms, and hardwood floors are only some of the key features that fill this sun-drenched home. On the first floor, conveniently located, is the windowed kitchen and living/dining area. Guests will not only love the open kitchen design but will appreciate the entertaining atmosphere the space provides. The large 25’x16’ living room space is flooded with natural light throughout the entire day and an exposed brick wall adds the perfect pre-war NYC feel. The main floor also has a large closet and a full windowed bathroom that has been beautifully remodeled. The large open kitchen has been completely updated with modern cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, a dishwasher, plenty of counter space for preparing meals, and a full breakfast counter that is perfect for the on-the-go lifestyle. What makes this home so incredible are the two separate massive private, outdoor spaces. This apartment is the perfect example of indoor/outdoor living, all while providing separated living spaces for the increasingly popular, work-from-home lifestyle. The spacious layout of the second floor offers three large bedrooms - all with double exposure and oversized closets. There is also access to over 1000 sqft of setback terrace space and a laundry room, equipped with an in-unit washer and dryer. Off of the large primary bedroom is the owner’s access to a private tranquil, zen-like terrace, perfect for early morning meditation or to enjoy your morning coffee. With skyscraper city views and room to create your own garden beds, the retreat-like space will easily become your own personal sanctuary. The two secondary bedrooms have ample space and deep closets with built-ins that offer more storage, drawers, and a place to store your things. Off of the hallway between the secondary bedrooms opens a sun-soaked, south-facing terrace that serves as a perfect large area for family lounging / dining and entertaining guests. Both bathrooms have been fully updated with modern vanities and floor-to-ceiling tile with oversized shower/tub combos. 223 E 50th Street is an elevator building in a prime neighborhood within close proximity to shopping and fine dining on Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue. Nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street right between the UN and Rockefeller Center / Radio City Music Hall there are countless attractions and activities to take advantage of every time you go outside the home. With TraderJoes, Whole Foods, parks, and countless restaurants conveniently located nearby, there are also four subway lines connecting you to the entire city.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
