Property Description for 3015 Riverdale Ave, 1-F

Newly refurbished large and bright one bedroom located on the parlor floor in a prewar setback elevator building. Rosario Candela, the renown Italian American architect who is credited for his terraced setback designed this building. The apartment has garden views with eastern exposure. The apartment has the original prewar details, arches, basket weave floors, high ceilings, entry foyer, windows in each room, set back shelf and large floor to ceiling closets. Though updated it has maintained the original details.

The windowed kitchen overlooks the lush garden. It has a gracious pass through dining room that is adjacent to the kitchen. A Grand archway leads into the living room that has double windows. A hallway with arch leads to the windowed bathroom that has the original black and white subway tiles and the oversized primary bedroom that also has garden views.

Rose trellis's adorn the front of this handsome prewar elevator building. The entry path has Italian hand laid bricks with a center garden with seasonal flora, plants and trees. The end of the walkway is a stone Zen fountain on a hill with flora. The entrance to the building was renovated a few years ago and it has an intercom. The original stone windowed art deco lobby has a stone staircase that ascends to the top floor with the original wood hand rail. The mail room has new mailboxes. The building has a live-in-super and assistant, individual storage (outside vendor) and a service entrance. Heat and hot water is included in the maintenance, which is one of the lowest maintenance's in the Riverdale area.Sorry, DOGS are no longer allowed. CATS are welcome.

Riverdale | Bronx

Quick Profile

Searching for a little bit of country that can be your home base, while still being able to take advantage of everything that NYC offers? Do you want a slower pace of living, focused on family and the great outdoors? Riverdale may be your perfect choice. Only about ten miles north of Midtown, Riverdale’s bucolic paradise feels like you have left the city entirely. You would never guess that you are still within the confines of the Bronx.

Riverdale is primarily residential with a substantial number of single-family homes and corridors of high-rise apartments. There are many large parks, and they play a major role in the lives of the residents, as they are a primary source of entertainment. Clean, safe streets make Riverdale a great place to walk or cycle. There are trees everywhere, and the air is fresh and invigorating. It is a great place to raise a family, but more and more singles and young professionals are moving into Riverdale, in search of larger, less expensive apartments, and to enjoy the parks and the remarkable views of the Hudson River and Manhattan.

While the grid layout of the rest of the city makes it easy to find your way from here to there, Riverdale chose to forego that structure, choosing instead to let the verdant streets twist and wind their way around natural obstacles in designs by Frederick Law Olmsted, of Central Park fame. Some streets are divided, with traffic in one direction being at an entirely different level than traffic headed the opposite way on the same street. This quirkiness adds a certain charm to this neighborhood.
