Property Description for 212 East 47th Street, 7-F

A corner three-bedroom, two-bath home with southern and eastern exposures and a private balcony with two entrances, Residence 7F in L'Ecole is filled with light throughout the day.

An expansive living area is flanked by the balcony, with ample room for seating as well as a garden, and the open kitchen. Stainless steel appliances, including a microwave, a gas range, a side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker and a Bosch dishwasher, contemporary cabinetry with frosted glass and mahogany-toned wood and white quartz countertops make the kitchen both polished and practical. The double-width breakfast bar allows the home chef abundant space to prepare gourmet creations while guests are seated there.

The owner's suite features access to the balcony, five California-style built-in closets and shelving and can still easily fit a king-sized bed and additional furniture. A bright, corner second bedroom also fits a king-sized bed and has a large closet with built-ins. Already designed as a versatile home office and guest room, the third bedroom has a built-in desk and shelving as well as a large closet and a full-sized Murphy bed.

Blond wood flooring throughout and individually controlled heat and air conditioning in each room. Both bathrooms (one within the owner's suite) are clad in rich marble with tubs, European showerheads and accessories by Waterworks, Kohler and Toto.

Residents of L'Ecole enjoy a stunning rooftop with panoramic city views, a 3,000-square-foot fitness center designed by La Palestra, a laundry room, an attached garage and experienced building staff, including a resident manager, a concierge on duty 24 hours and a doorperson. The canopied entrance to the elegant lobby is surrounded by lush landscaping and is accessed by a private driveway between East 46th and East 47th Streets.

Located in the serene Turtle Bay neighborhood, L'Ecole provides easy access to the United Nations, international missions and consulates, Midtown offices, Grand Central Terminal and the swimming pool and other programs at the Vanderbilt YMCA. Nearby gourmet groceries include Amish Market, Grand Central Market and the Wednesday Greenmarket at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza. Neighborhood restaurants include Angeletto, Amma, Peking Duck House, Deux Amis, Yara, La Gioconda and Remi Flower and Coffee. L'Ecole is served by the Select Bus Service along Second and Third Avenues, the 4, 5, 6, 7, E and M trains and a Citi Bike docking station 200 feet (61 metres) from the entrance.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
