Property Description for 50 United Nations Plaza, 31-B

Spanning over 3,000 square feet with spectacular views, 31B is a corner 3 bedroom 3.5 bath residence within 50 United Nations Plaza. This luxury condominium consisting of 88 units, is the ultimate global address, having been designed by Architect Sir Norman Foster and developed by Zeckendorf Development and Global Holdings Inc.

There has been little to no turnover in the highly popular B line, which sold out quickly following premiere of the building. Residence 31B is a unique opportunity to purchase both within the line and on a high floor.

Currently owned by a gallerist and connoisseur of art and design, this home represents the epitome of sleekness, sophistication and luxury. It is in pristine condition, having barely been lived in. There are only two residences per floor which contributes to calmness and privacy.

The elegant foyer opens to an architecturally impressive Living/ Dining area which spans over 50 feet in length and has 11' tall ceilings. It is framed by custom designed deep bay windows which provide breathtaking views of The East River, UN Grounds and The Secretariat Building. These windows were specially treated by the owner to cut glare and protect against eastern sunlight. All shades within the apartment are motorized.

The large, windowed kitchen with a Foster & Partners designed center island, features a breakfast bar and seating that overlooks the city. It has White Lacquer Poliform cabinetry, honed Absolute Black Granite Countertops and Miele, Sub-Zero, and Bosch appliances.

A separation between the bedrooms and primary entertaining spaces is created by a long and wide hallway off the foyer with dramatic windows at each end. It is perfect for the display of artwork.

An over-sized Primary Bedroom Suite with generous proportions, is framed by large, distinctive windows which look out at the NYC skyline inclusive of the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings. The Ensuite Primary Bath also features this special view that can be seen while luxuriating in the large Kohler Ironworks Soaking Tub. Bathroom floors, vanity top, shower and tub surround are of White Sivic Marble. There is a Foster + Partners designed Teakwood Vanity, Duravit Water Closet and Bidet. The fittings are by Dornbracht and the floors are Radiant Heated.

The second and third bedrooms are ample in size and have ensuite baths with Blue de Savoi Marble and Teakwood finishes. One bathroom features a walk-in shower with glass enclosure and the other offers a shower/tub combination.

There is a generously sized Washer/Dryer and Utility area within the apartment and additional laundry facilities available in the lower level of the building.

A Parking Space and large Storage Bin will transfer with the apartment. There is a monthly charge for parking of $307.49 to cover garage expenses.

50 United Nations Plaza is rich with amenities which include a landscaped, gated entry and motor court with valet parking. There is a full staff including Resident Manager, Concierge, Porter and Valet. The Fitness Center is state-of-the art and is managed by The Wright Fit Concierge Services. It features a 75-foot swimming pool, sauna, steam and massage rooms. There is a Playroom as well as a Conference and Meeting Room on site.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
