Property Description for 200 East 57th Street, 10-A

Absolutely stunning in East Midtown! No detail was spared in the renovation of this ca. 1600+ sq ft 2-to-3 bedroom home with an office, in-unit washer and dryer and chic and stylish electronic fireplace. Enter a gracious gallery that leads to an oversized living room full of light from western and southern exposures. Gleaming hardwood floors enhance the style of this elegant space. Enjoy socializing with your guests in front of the fireplace before sitting down in the dining room that accommodates a table for 8 or more. The sparkling cook's kitchen with granite counters boasts a Wolf range and GE Cafe fridge, Bosch dishwasher and Dacor microwave - all stainless steel - plus a charming window seat where a spouse or buddy can enjoy a glass of wine while "assisting" the chef. The bedroom wing is a quiet oasis to the south of the living area with a large primary suite featuring an expansive bedroom, generous closets and a marble bathroom with double sinks. The second bedroom easily has room for a king, queen or twin beds, and houses the convenient in-home Miele washer and dryer. The snappy second bath has a tub and shower combination. The current owners widened the entry foyer and added a home office just off the gallery. Huge, beautifully outfitted closets, including two enormous walk-ins, are abundant throughout the home. This is an exceptional opportunity to move right into a perfectly finished home in a sought-after full-service co-op. Apartments at 200 East 57th Street, an Emery Roth and Sons mid-century building, are recognized for the grace and flow that are the hallmarks of the renowned architect's residential designs. There are few buildings that match its profusion of amenities, including a landscaped roof deck accessible directly by elevator, a workout gym, a garage, private extra storage for rent, a resident manager and an attentive, professional staff. Pet-friendly, too! The location is fantastic, with transportation to every corner of the city, easy access to the FDR, your choice of Central Park or the East River Greenway and Sutton Place parks, and outstanding shopping, including Whole Foods right in the same block. Maintenance at 200 East 57th St includes all utilities and basic cable, pied-a-terres are permitted with Board approval, and the co-op allows 65% financing.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
