Property Description for 200 East 57th Street, 11-H

Not a cookie-cutter! Enter this corner, ca. 1,100 sq. ft., 1-bed, 2-full bath home into a 35’ sweep of space that is full of light from north and east exposures, yet quiet and serene. Designed for entertaining, this home features an immense living room with room for plenty of furniture, with an open formal dining room and a bright, windowed kitchen. The oversized bedroom boasts a 9’ ceiling, room for a home office, a large walk-in closet and an updated, windowed, ensuite bathroom. A second, windowed full bath and generous closet space complete this gracious home. A washer and dryer could be installed with Board approval. 200 East 57th St. is a sought-after full-service Emery Roth and Sons building, one of the first built as a white-glove co-op. A model of mid-century modern architecture, it features 24-hour doormen and concierge, and a recently renovated lobby and hallways. There is a superb, landscaped and furnished roof deck that is accessible directly by elevator, a well-equipped gym (nominal fee), a spacious common laundry room, private storage available for rent (modest waiting list) and a garage, also accessible by elevator. The location is exceptional. At the crossroads of East Midtown, 200 East 57th is convenient to the midtown office district and major medical centers, as well as fine shopping, dining and entertainment. Two crosstown busses and myriad subway lines connect all over the city. The FDR Drive and Queensborough Bridge make easterly and northeasterly escapes a snap. Or enjoy outdoor activities in nearby Central Park, the Sutton Place parks or along the East River Esplanade. Pet-friendly 200 East 57th St. boasts excellent financials and allows 65% financing, and a variety of purchasing options and pied-a-terres on a case-by-case basis. Maintenance includes all utilities and basic cable.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
