Property Description for 39-76 57th Street, 4-G

Sun-soaked and Renovated 1-Bedroom at The Chateau Cooperative in Woodside.

Located on 57th Street just a block off Roosevelt Avenue, this move-in-ready cooperative apartment offers a functional layout, recently upgraded kitchen and bathroom, and a convenient location.

Situated on the fourth floor of an elevator building, the southern exposure in both rooms offers both privacy and bountiful natural light. The flexibility and the efficiency of this mid-century floor plan yields a comfortable living room, dining area for four, open kitchen, entry foyer, and spacious bedroom. Extra storage in the form of a pantry, linen closet, coat closet, and large bedroom closet is sure to keep you organized.

Hardwood strip flooring through provides a warm undertone, contrasting nicely with an open kitchen dressed in shaker cabinets with a butcher block peninsula. A recent kitchen renovation also opened up the layout and multiplied the storage and counter space.

A nicely proportioned bedroom can easily accommodate a queen or king sized bed. The current owners modified the floor plan to maximize closet space, resulting in a larger bedroom closet. The bathroom has also been upgraded with new tilework, a re-glazed tub to maintain the classic feel, and new plumbing fixtures from Kohler. Both the living room and bedroom have through-wall air conditioning units.

The Chateau Cooperative is located nearby to the 7-train at 52nd Street or 61st Street-Woodside. Midtown commuters will enjoy a quick ride to Penn Station or Grand Central Terminal from the Woodside Long Island Railroad Station, which is less than a quarter mile away. The building has a live-in superintendent, package room, and laundry room. Storage cages are also available (subject to availability).

Enjoy green space just a block away at Doughboy Plaza and Lawrence Virgilio Playground, adjoining NYC Parks with great amenities.

Please note that there is currently an assessment for Local Law 11 in the amount of $203.40 per month, running through the end of July 2026.

A flip tax of $3,390 ($15 per share) is to be paid by the buyer at the time of closing.

Woodside | Queens

Quick Profile

From Irish enclave to modern day melting pot, Woodside Queens is an affordable working-class neighborhood with a laid-back vibe.

Woodside is bordered by Elmhurst to the east, Astoria to the west, Jackson Heights to the northeast and Long Island City to the south.

According to many residents, one of the perks of living in the neighborhood is the short train commute to Manhattan and Grand Central Station. What Woodside lacks in attractions, it certainly makes up for it with fun bars and pubs, coffee shops, parks, and food spots. Especially the endless variety of ethnic food establishments throughout the neighborhood.

Queens is already the epicenter of ethnic food. So, it’s no surprise that there are many culinary treasures in Woodside. Especially when it comes to Filipino food. Little Manilla, as it's affectionately known as, begins at 63rd Street on Roosevelt Avenue and extends to 71st. You’ll find Filipino markets and restaurants selling everything from comfort food to traditional Filipino ingredients. Make sure you come hungry.

Woodside has always been a melting pot. Irish, Italian and German immigrants flocked to the neighborhood in the early 20th century. In recent years, Asian and Latin immigrants have joined the population.

As of lately, the neighborhood has attracted people looking to get a little more bang for their buck as well as those who have been priced out of nearby areas like Sunnyside and Long Island City. Most Woodside residents rent and a smaller portion of them own.

When it comes to housing stock, you’ll find a little bit of everything in Woodside. Standalone houses, large apartment buildings, towering co-ops and 2 and 3 story detached homes are common.

The neighborhood has not seen an explosion of growth in new and modern construction yet so there are some good deals to be had. The average listed price is $419,000 while the median listed price is $372,000.

Woodside's main commercial artery is Roosevelt Avenue, which has always been a busy thoroughfare. Irish bars, Italian bakeries, mom and pop stores of every type share the commercial space. The rumbling subway passes overhead on the elevated track and adds a little grittiness to it all.
