Property Description for 305 East 51st Street, 28-A

Temporarily off the market until TCO is in place.

Welcome to Residence 28A at The Halcyon - a sprawling, sun-drenched four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home soaring high above Midtown East on the 28th floor.

The scale of this residence is immediately commanding. Ceilings over ten feet high, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a corner living and dining room that captures the city from three directions - the Empire State and Chrysler buildings to the south, Midtown's skyline to the west, and sweeping river vistas to the east. Few apartments in Manhattan offer this breadth of outlook from a home.

The layout is equally generous. A windowed, open Poliform kitchen with Calacatta Gold marble countertops and Miele and Subzero appliances anchors the entertaining space, while the well-considered floor plan accommodates both effortless daily living and formal hosting. Smoked six-inch-wide oak floors run throughout, adding a layer of refined, understated sophistication.

The private corner primary suite is a true retreat - oversized custom walk-in closet, built-ins, and a spa-caliber bathroom with white statuary marble, bronze fixtures, a deep soaking tub, and a separate glass-enclosed shower. Two additional bedrooms each feature en-suite bathrooms with glass wall tiles and bronze Kohler fixtures. A sun-filled study off the kitchen functions seamlessly as a fourth bedroom, with a walk-in laundry room with sink and an elegant powder room rounding out the offering.

The Halcyon itself is one of Midtown East's most distinguished addresses - a 33-story luxury condo designed by AD100 architect S. Russell Groves, where the amenities are genuinely exceptional: a 52-foot heated indoor pool, a light-filled fitness center, steam and sauna rooms, a private treatment room, a golf simulator, a playroom, a media lounge with catering kitchen, a library, a sky lounge, and a serene courtyard garden - all with 24-hour doorman and concierge services.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
