Property Description for 230 East 50th Street, 10-AB

Welcome to Residence 10AB at 230 East 50th Street, a fully reimagined prewar home, thoughtfully renovated from top to bottom. This sprawling four bedroom residence plus a home office offers exceptional scale and a layout well suited for both everyday living and entertaining. Arrive through a 1920s wood-clad elevator to a private landing and vestibule anchored by a large walk-in closet. A palette of newly installed European White Oak flooring introduces the home’s refined and thoughtfully curated aesthetic, while newly added central air conditioning ensures year-round comfort. The expansive, sun-splashed great room unfolds beyond, featuring a chef’s kitchen anchored by an oversized island clad in Aurea Siegfried stone, complemented by Thermador professional appliances, including a gas cooktop, oven, two dishwashers, fully paneled refrigerator, pop-up hood, and a dedicated Thermador wine fridge. The adjoining dining area is centered around a dramatic Marine Black marble wood-burning fireplace, one of two in the residence, creating a warm and sculptural backdrop for gatherings. Additionally, the residence features gorgeous brand-new steel casement windows, Lutron smart home lighting, and is wired for Sonos throughout. A separate living room offers the home’s second Marine Black marble wood-burning fireplace. For entertaining, the room features a custom wet bar, complete with a U-Line beverage refrigerator and under-counter ice maker. A beautifully appointed powder room, wrapped in custom wallcovering and Gold Glass Penny Round Mosaic Tile, completes this wing. The home’s intelligently crafted layout features four well-proportioned bedrooms, each enhanced with refined finishes, custom millwork, and thoughtfully selected designer lighting. A dedicated home office/den with a stunning mullioned glass partition wall adds flexibility for work or guest accommodations. The serene primary suite includes space for a king-sized layout, fully outfitted custom closet, and an en-suite bath finished with an Aberdeen oak vanity topped with Carrara marble, textured wallcovering, and Juniper Polished Porcelain Tile complemented by polished gold fixtures. Additional bedrooms feature bespoke details such as custom built-ins and elevated, thoughtfully selected wallcoverings. Located in an established prewar, white-glove cooperative, 230 East 50th Street offers impeccable service, a stunning English courtyard garden, a lush furnished roof deck with panoramic city views, a live-in resident manager, 24-hour doorman and hand-delivered mail and packages. A private storage unit transfers with the home. Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
