Property Description for 108 Leonard Street, 11-C

Residence 11 at 108 Leonard Street is a beautifully appointed three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home spanning approximately 1,927 square feet within one of Tribeca’s most architecturally significant landmark buildings. Defined by soaring ceilings, dramatic half-moon windows, and expansive proportions, the residence pairs the historic character of 108 Leonard with sophisticated contemporary interiors by Jeffrey Beers International. A gracious entry gallery leads into the expansive great room, where ceiling heights exceeding 10 feet, oversized windows, and generous walls for art create an impressive setting for both living and entertaining. Wide-plank gray oak flooring laid in a chevron pattern extends throughout the main living spaces, complemented by thoughtfully selected lighting and custom details. Open to the great room, the kitchen features custom Scavolini cabinetry designed by Jeffrey Beers International, Calacatta Vagli marble countertops and backsplash, and a substantial waterfall island offering additional storage and seating. A complete suite of Miele appliances includes a full-height wine refrigerator, refrigerator, five-burner gas cooktop, oven, combination microwave/oven, dishwasher, and vented hood. Privately positioned beyond its own vestibule, the primary suite features large windows, a walk-in closet, and a beautifully appointed bath clad in honed Calacatta Mandria marble. The space is finished with a custom vanity, polished chrome Fantini fixtures, and an oversized glass-enclosed shower. Two additional bedrooms each feature en-suite baths, while a Nero Marquina marble powder room and in-unit Miele washer and dryer complete the residence. The home has been further enhanced with California Closets throughout all seven closets, Stark carpeting in the secondary bedrooms, blackout shades and drapery, a custom built-in bar in the dining area, and Murano glass chandeliers in the living space. A deeded private storage unit is also included. Originally designed by McKim, Mead & White and thoughtfully restored with interiors by Jeffrey Beers International, 108 Leonard pairs landmark Italian Renaissance Revival architecture with an exceptional collection of contemporary amenities. Residents enjoy attended lobbies, a private drive-in motor reception with valet parking, and more than 20,000 square feet of amenity space, including a fitness center, lap pool, chef’s kitchen and private dining room, wine vault, residents’ lounge, children’s playroom, and landscaped roof terrace with cabanas and a yoga platform.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
