Property Description for 450 East 52nd Street, 12-FLR

Newly and significantly reduced, this extraordinary full-floor residence at the iconic Campanile represents a remarkable opportunity to own a grand prewar home with breathtaking river and skyline views at exceptional value. Offering spectacular light, gracious proportions, and panoramic views from every room, this high-floor apartment delivers a combination of space, privacy, and architectural distinction that is increasingly difficult to find.

A private elevator landing opens to an expansive gallery with open eastern views, setting the stage for the home's impressive scale. The gracious south-facing living room, complete with a wood-burning fireplace, showcases dazzling vistas of the East River, United Nations, and Manhattan skyline, particularly magical when illuminated at night. The flexible layout includes three bedrooms (one currently configured as a library), an oversized formal dining room, an eat-in kitchen, and a separate staff room or home office. Soaring ceilings, beautiful prewar details, a river-facing balcony, and exceptional storage, including two enormous walk-in closets, further distinguish this special residence.

Built in 1927, the Campanile is one of Manhattan's most distinguished and historically significant cooperatives, renowned for its architectural grandeur and illustrious past residents. Ideally situated on a quiet East 52nd Street cul-de-sac directly across from River House, it offers a rare sense of tranquility and discretion in the heart of Manhattan. At its compelling new price, this is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a truly grand full-floor residence with extraordinary views in one of the city's most celebrated buildings.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
