Property Description for 845 United Nations Plaza, 82-CD

Welcome to Residence 82CD, a palatial corner combination condo designed by Mark Stumer and spanning 5,000 sq. ft. across an open 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom layout with state-of-the-art finishes and smart home technology throughout, exuding contemporary luxury and style. With three exposures and unobstructed New York City views, the dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooks the horizon stretching from Lower Manhattan with the Empire State building, Freedom Tower, Chrysler building to an expansive uptown view encompassing the verdant Central Park, Billionaire's Row, and George Washington Bridge. A high-end Crestron home automation system with remote and voice-control is linked with integrated speakers, 8 flat screen TVs, a retractable movie screen, motorized shades, and ambient mood lighting. Refined interiors designed by award-winning Mark Stumer are elegant modernism featuring extensive high-end detailing of pure white stone flooring with dark marble trim and walnut insets, macassar ebony and glossy lacquer line the walls, and a main gallery to connect the sprawling home. The home begins with a grand foyer that opens into an expansive 40-foot great room that offers soaring 12-foot ceilings, a gas fireplace, a sun-drench southwest corner exposure, and an automated home theater that opens from the wall at the touch of a button. Perfect for entertaining, a full wet bar sits adjacent to the great room and looks out over Lower Manhattan and the East River. The chef's kitchen was designed with full suite of Meile appliances featuring a 45-bottle wine cooler, gas 5-burner range with flattop, espresso bar, stacked microwave and oven, and oversized industrial refrigerator. The kitchen is complete with a vast island, white stone countertops, a windowed breakfast bar overlooking the Central Park skyline, and an automated wall to section off the kitchen from the dining room for a formal layout. The capacious primary suite sits in its own wing in the home and is truly empyrean. The bedroom has a northwest corner exposure that oversees Central Park, the East River, and the entirety of Upper Manhattan and features custom built-in storage and automated media display. The spa-like en-suite includes a freestanding soaking tub, windowed rainfall shower, and luxurious double vanity. The primary suite is complete with a 400sqft walk-in wardrobe that was designed after the Ralph Lauren flagship and is large enough to be converted into a fourth bedroom. The second and third bedrooms feature western-facing floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious enough to be converted to home office, gym, and share access to pristine full Jack-and-Jill bathroom. Built in 2001, 845 United Nations Plaza is an iconic white-glove condominium that soars 863 feet into the sky and offers residents 24-hour valet and concierge in a lavish two-story marble lobby, a landscaped garden and courtyard, private wine cellars, a high-end health club and spa with a 60-ft indoor pool, massage and treatment rooms, steam and sauna rooms, and a fully equipped gym. Nestled in Turtle Bay across the street from the United Nations, the building is moments from restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. It is close to Grand Central Terminal and Rockefeller Center. Nearby subway lines include the 4/5/6/7. Pets are welcome.

Turtle Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Turtle Bay is best known for hosting the world’s dignitaries at United Nations once a year as the world institution sits on the eastern edge of the neighborhood along the East River.

But this midtown location offers a lot more, a bustling neighborhood teeming with high-rise apartment buildings and an easy walk to the Midtown business district.

Over the past two decades, developers have assembled almost every corner development site along Second Avenue and have built straight up. Not much left to assemble.

Some of the more glamorous, and of course most expensive, addresses are in close proximity to the United Nations. Trump World Tower, which caused a big stir with area residents, in particular, Walter Cronkite, when it was built sits just north of the United Nations Grounds.

In contrast to the proliferation of the residential highrise, Turtle Bay does have some lovely tree-lined streets between the avenues. In particular, Turtle Bay Gardens, which fronts both 48th Street and 49th Street between Third and Second Avenue has always been a haven for the rich and famous.
